1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

englade321, we're rare breed on this forum.

You are exactly right. My avatar is a shot of a hydrauic cylinder/ linear actuator; I'm a hydraulics technician.

Guys-legislative update from Capitol Hill. Last night, the Lujan-Grisshom amendment was defeated in the farm bill debate. The amendment was to defund inspection of horse meat plants, effectively ending slaughter of horses and this no domestic shell. Anyway, I don't know what will happen in the next few months, but for now, it probably would be helpful to call and get your representatives stance on horse slaughter, as a disruption in the supply of horse meat supply chain will inevitably cause a further shortage in shell! Just my two cents from DC.

Neatsfoot oil is just an oil in the same way olive oil is an oil. It's sold by many different makers.

I would recommend the Lexol Neatsfoot product however:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...reativeASIN=B000QFQE68&linkCode=as2&tag=tt-20

which is also what Alden SF uses/recommends.

I've used raw neatsfoot oil before and its sorta nasty stuff but the Lexol product has a much better consistency.

Note, it's only recommended for chromexcel, not really for any and all leathers.

Those look pretty good. I was disappointed that I missed them when they were on Gilt a few weeks ago.

So...if you could get an Alden Chukka boot in Whiskey, Ravello or Cigar on Barrie last which one would you get?

    See Ya,

I have not bought yet...but they may not fit. Crossing my fingers on that. Since it's Barrie last a good chance they will fit.

would still buy ravello personally. I find it a more versatile color than whiskey, and harder to procure than cigar.

I like Ravello best myself. The price for the Chukkas is $730 per pair. I just bought earlier today a pair of cigar split toe slip ons, and a whiskey full strap slip on. Don't own any of the chukkas, but the options out there so I thought I would ask. All of these are returnable within the typical return rules.

This week alone I ordered monk strap whiskey, #8 NSB on barrie, both of those are irregulars from TSM, cigar split toe slip on, whiskey strap slip on. Plus looking at these Chukka's. Hard decision on what to keep, possibly all of them and also consider the chukkas in whiskey, ravello and cigar. If I had to pick 1 it would be the Ravello. I'm not sure on chukkas, never owned any. On this forum they seem to be popular.

I also scored a whiskey belt!

    See Ya,
    Steve
