Guys I have a question. I am getting my first pair of nice boots. I want something that is versatile (can be worn with denim, chino's, slacks). I was thinking about these for my first purchase. Would this be a good first pair or would you guys recommend something else? Also is this color pretty easy to wear? I wear mostly stuff from epaulet.

Any idea how I should size them? I am a true size 12 US.

I find them to be TTS (I have them).

I am TTS 9.5D
I have this boot in 9.5D.
Frankly, I would go to 10D before I would go to 9D.

It never hurts to order two sizes and send one back. :nodding:

Thanks a bunch guys! I'll get them in 12. Any idea how to find out if I should get the medium or wide width?

Would 36" laces be long enough for the indy?

There was some discussion regarding where to buy in Boston a few pages back.

The Tannery at 400 Boylston (the smaller one) has Alden shoes, but apparently that location ended their relationship with them one year ago and they are only selling their remaining stock. It appears they haven't updated their prices in a while and I know at least the PTBs are being sold for $565.

They don't have a huge size selection (they were out of my size), but I think they said they have sizes 7-8 and size 12 in #8 on the PTB. They have a number of other models available but I'm not sure about price or sizing availability. I know they carry black and #8 shell in monks, PTBs and LWBs, plus a few others.
