Just thought I'd throw this out there...

A guy I know had new heels put on his indys that were differen't from the original ones. They caused the shoes to recrease in other spots as it changed the way he walked in them. Indys have that special orthopedic heel, forget what its called, not sure if that's still what you have on yours, or if you're even concerned about recreasing.

I think they are okay in light rain. Nothing to Heavy. I sprayed mine down and will be wearing them for the fall. But I would keep away from a down pour. Great shoes.

I don't doubt that they'll wear a little differently after the resole but I'm not too worried about it. I'm basically thinking of putting the same soles that are on the 404 Kudu on these 403s.

Story time. I dropped a heavy plate right on top of the knuckle of one of my toes. It hurt like a muther. I thought it could be broken. Although the pain subsided and I could flex it so all is good. I put on my Indy's and was on my way for work.

Feeling no discomfort whatsoever, I completely forgot about it. Arriving back home, I took off my Indys and instantly I felt pain. I took off my sock and noticed my toe was black and blue at the knuckle. Put on a pair of comfy sneakers and still had pain.

Long story short, Indys > comfy sneakers > barefoot.

    Yep. Same hotel too.

It's the just the light and I think my foot was pressing on that post. Creasing on these is pretty much the same on both shoes.

NOTE ON THIS VIDEO: I have been told this only works on UNLINED suede shoes. apparently if you do this on lined shoes water can get stuck in between layers and cause rot to occur. I have not tried it but it sounds accurate.

They have always gone through the x-ray with no problem. I'm not sure if they have ever stopped the belt to look closely at them.

They do frown upon trying to get through the metal detector with them. I tried, once.

Yeah, I mean if you take them off and put them on the moving belt, do they give you grief when they see the piece of metal in your shoes?

No, they are shoes. Its fine. You can never underestimate the stupidity of the TSA agents though.

Don't worry about it and enjoy your vacation.

Aldens aren't the only brand with metal shanks.
I've never had a problem with any brand of shoes on the belt.
They're too busy looking for 1.00000001 mL of liquid.

I've put my 901's through the x-ray machine several times when travelling for work. Never had an issue.

I'm just waiting for the day to come when they give me heck about it.
