Rolex will revoke dealerships if their watches are sold below list, and they have successfully done so. Wouldn't a mutually bairgained-for signed contract trump a dealer argument?

Thanks for the tip. Just got off the phone with Rob (he mentioned he has been slammed by SF members) and ordered a pair of #8 LWBs. I should have them within two weeks.

Still looking for the cap toe cigar. Looks like Shoe Mart is the only place to order them, they are out of my size and told me I can put in an order, but it will be next April before they are delivered.

Just ordered a pair of #8 LHS from Rob..thanks for the tip Wes Bourne!

I ordered 8.5D in Van Last and wear 9D in Grant Last, do they fit half a size smaller compare to TTS Grant?

    cheers

I have determined I am a 10.5E in the Barrie last. I ordered an 11E in the Van (LHS). There seems to be a lot of conflicting feedback on whether the Van and Barrie run at the same size, or if the Van is more TTS. Can anyone offer some further insight?

Color #8 LWB at $525 put me in a really hard place. I just bought some new AE Park Avenues at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for job interviews, and haven't worn them yet... tempted to return them and get LWB and hope nobody I interview with cares enough to notice the difference. Besides that, they'd also be good for casual wear.

Or I could stick with my old corrected-grain black Florsheims from Macy's for the interviews...

While we're back on the topic of lasts, how does the Grant compare to the Barrie (is it both shorter and more narrow)?

I'm a (Snug) 11.5D Barrie should i go up one 1/2 size and one width on the grant?

ie. from an 11.5D Barrie to a 12E grant?

I know talking about fit is as much fun as sitting in on the Allen Edmonds forum, but any help on this would be awesome!

Thanks guys. I'm giong to mirror my LWB size.

Which will be most useful in your real-world wardrobe? For example, I seldom wear black balmorals (when I wear them, I am usually the dressiest guy int he room). So I would deal with the lower-quality Florsheim bals, return the AEs, and get the LWBs. But if you're in a more formal industry, I'd prefer to have a higher-quality pair of black bals since they will be more useful.

9.5D in barrie. 10D in grant fits good but is a bit long, so i have some heel slip if i don't tighten them correctly. i don't think i'd go down to 9.5 in grant, seems like it would be too short.

What about a comparison of the AE 5-65 last with the Barrie? I have 2 pairs of Alden right now, both 10D, but they're Alden for BB (one a black captoe balmoral, one a pair of tassel loafers, both shell). For reference the AE 5-65 last fits perfectly at 10D in my Strands and shell Cambridge. My Oakstreet trail oxfords in 10D are a bit loose and my Eastland Made in Maine trail oxfords are a bit snug but good at 9.5D.

Of course, before last year I always thought I was a 10.5 [IMG]

Compared to the fitting of the 5 (Strand) I find the Barrie to be .5 large and .25 wide.

I would suggest you size down .5 in the barrie, so 9.5D.

I wear 11.5e in barrie. Went with 12e in grant boot. It's a little narrow for me, but the shell stretched a bit. Length is TTS, so just a tad longer than 11.5e barrie.
