I'm curious for others to chime in to. What are the top 3 essential pairs?
#8 LWB
#8 LHS
Cigar/Ravello Chukka?

Mine are for work/business so I went for black bal wing tip, #8 cap toe and black cap toe. Got I deal on black saddle. All are shell. Now after cigar cap toe and LWB and #8 LWB, no particular order, depends on what I can find in my size.

i've paired down to only 4 Aldens, after buying and selling off a few pairs along the way:

#8 unlined ptb, flex welt, barrie from Alden SF
Snuff suede chukka, flex welt, leydon
Black cordo captoe boot, double leather, barrie from Alden SF
#8 plaint toe boot, commando, plaza from J. Gilbert

i can wear pretty much whatever i want to work, and i find these 4 models give me options in all seasons and a chance to rotate during the week. i wouldn't mind adding something in cigar somewhere down the road, but i'm pretty content with my little collection.

if i ever find a decent deal on the j crew boots, i'm going to sell my #8 wingtip boots and get the j crews instead. i think one pair of brogues is enough for me given how business casual my workplace is.
