Probably a whole other can of worms I'm opening, but these would look good with a navy or dark grey suit?

yes and yes imo, but it's not super dressy b/c of the huge sole. it's certainly not an interview/funeral shoe. but for daily wear in an office setting I think it's cool

I think the LW's are better with chinos and jeans nd heavier trousers but that's just me. They are quite substantial. I go back to the Leydon last on the flex sole as being more versatile. I have shoes in Trubalance, Barrie and Leydon and the Leydon shell boots get the most wear by a pretty good margin because of the middle of their road nature.

On the other hand those LW's are the bees knees with jeans and chinos.

I agree that the soles are pretty big on these.

Mike, would you mind tossing a link to the boots you are referring to? Thanks!

Wait I thought the Ultimate Indys had the commando soul. Those look like they have the neocork sole that mine do.

They do have a commando sole... One of the main reasons I went with them instead of regular Indy's. I found the Neocork sole to be too slippery when wet.

made for JA market...nice I think. speed hooks, NST, and crepe sole all work together for a very nice casual boot. also a fairly big last [IMG]

I have these and can't stop wearing them, fantastic boot.

+1 on that. Although after getting the unlined chukka today I believe these have a rival.

I am going to start off with these: http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/t...ongwing/Detail I love a lot of these suggestions, but the ones I chose look like they will work with most everything else I have at the moment. This is a dangerous and expensive road I'm heading down...

Be careful - I bought the Chromexcel Indy Boots from Mike and ended up ordering wingtips 2 days later. Alden's are addicting!

No kidding. Now add "I am also a beginning suedeaholic." Wearing the Epaulet suede longwings for the first time today and I'm as happy as a little girl.
