Should I just plan on my Indy boots ripping holes in my pants with the speed hooks?

What kind of pants will you be wearing? Unless they're proper dress pants (thin wool, part of a suit) I think you'll be fine...assuming you don't remove your boots like a gorilla.

This is my favorite alden shoe that I own. I don't wear them enough solely because I don't want the whiskey to get stained. Mine are a darker shade, and I love them with darker raw denim or navy chinos. They give a great pop of color (like someone else said), and because they aren't rugged, they can be easily dressed up. I will wear them into the fall for sure as soon as I get some leather defender to protect them. My regular indys look like they came back from Iraq, and I'm fine with that for a true workboot. The whiskey indy, however, will certainly not get that treatment.

I think I am going to try to reintegrate them into the rotation this fall with some dark demin and maybe dome navy chinos/cords...

Why doesn't any retailer offer an unlined #8 LHS with flexwelt, oiled Waterlock soles and Antique edge?

Same shoes, Cigar Indys from J. Gilbert. I have one question though
[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] On the outer body of the left boot, there is a 4-inch 10-inch squiggly convex line of something that can be felt by touch. Does anyone know what this is? Is this considered 'acceptable'?

IMO, generally speaking whiskey is the least versatile of the shell colors. For me, it's not even close - primarily due to the fact that whiskey is easily the least formal of the colors. Having said that, the whiskey LHS may be my favorite LHS. In addition to the LHS, I also have the LWB and the chukka, both wonderful models in their own right. Whiskey is no doubt unique. All of my whiskeys are worn in casual settings only.

The likelihood of me buying more whiskey models is remote at best.
