    Dang, I want this boot with just a plain leather sole. I live in the desert. The J Crew version cap toe doesn't have storm welting I believe, cool shoe but kinda minimal that way. Pass ... any suggestions ?

    I see this all the time on websites that don't know what they're talking about....funny, because I never would have noticed it a couple years ago. That's what SF does to you!

    Our beloved Alden shoe company also use the term Oxford for some Blucher models in their official printed catalog. In fact the 990 was referred as the Cordovan Plain Toe Blucher Oxford. Blucher and Oxford at the same time. Interesting.

    In the last few days there has been some back and forth about shell v. calf on the AE thread. I added a comment or two about it. :D Below I am reproducing a post I made over on that thread earlier today. I would highly recommend each shoe pictured, particularly if your dress is of the business professional variety.
