Quite nice and they look very comfy. Are those on the Barrie last?

Another question as I've been contemplating choices for soles. I tend to lean towards leather soles and heels (preferably with the dovetail rubber insert). I have some boots with the JR soles and I know of their reputation for durability, etc. but since they're pretty new, can't speak to that. I also have some boots with the double waterlock soles. My question is why wouldn't you always want a waterlock sole if it will protect better against the wet? Because I'm guessing you can get the sole edging to look however you want with either sole. So is there an advantage of the regular oak tanned sole over the waterlock? TIA

I'd be interested in this too - every other interaction w/ B. Nelson that I've read about has resulted in stellar service and results...

NYR - is that the official monkier for these boots?

Tankers, Day Trippers, ... Poop Kickers? ;)

Forget about changes welts/soles... changing laces are so much easier. Black LWB [IMG]

    Barrie last

As far as double leather vs double oiled waterlock, I don't really know. Maybe the double leather is a bit more durable (lasts more wears)? Honestly broken in double leather soled shoes perform fine in wet weather as well.

I asked about the soles because I wore the JR soled boots the other day and walked literally 20 feet on wet concrete (no pooled water) and came inside. I stupidly rested my right boot on the edge of a table and kept it there for awhile in different positions (I guess). Now there are lines/indentations on the right sole where the edge of the table sort of cut in to the sole. No biggie as you can't really see it but I was surprised how easy it was for me to make those indentations on the JR sole. Was wondering if that would have happened to the double waterlock sole?

    Thanks for replying.

I think blue laces and even racier, red laces on black boots can give the shoes/boots some added impact. Definitely not stodgy!

Funny, I initially put these just for fun and no intention of keeping them on. However, I misplaced the original black ones and these grew on me. Definitely not for everyone but it's a really cheap 'upgrade.'

I've been experimenting with colored laces on my black NSTs. It's amazing how you can refresh the look with a new pair of laces.
With respect to making color selections, my thanks to appolyon for introducing me to Color Buddy. This app prompts you to select a base color and a color theory. In this case, I selected "black" as the base and "complimentary" as the color theory. These are the results. appolyon

Yup, I like the chinos as well. What is the story behind that edge trim? (I like it) Did they come like that?
