I was curious to see if anyone would notice the venue. You are correct, it was the Bowl. The L.A. Philharmonic was performing Beethoven in honor of his 150th birthday.

I had no idea you were so old you were around for Beethoven's 150th!

Gentlemen, I have just received a pair of calfskin NST bluchers from Moulded Shoe. This is my first calf Alden (everything else is CXL, Kudu, or suede). The leather is very squeaky (as I walk around the house checking the fit). I haven't conditioned the leather, yet. Nonetheless, is this normal? Many thanks.

Not a good sign... this could mean there are air gaps in the cork or between the feather and sole

It's curious because I tried them on at Moulded Shoe. They didn't squeak in store as far as I can recall. Presumably, this is the same pair I tried on (I had them shipped to my house which was cheaper than the sales tax).

Had this happen on some single soled chukka's on me. Sent them back for a full refund. Same thing with my BB Unlined Cordo #8 Penny's. Just pick up Whiskey Chukka and hoping like hell they don't end up doing that... difference is... these are double sole maybe that will work. I also didn't care for the Leydon Chukka sole, felt really flimsy. Pass....

You are correct Uncle. It was actually in celebration of the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt's 150th birthday.
