1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    the break in method

1-wear the shoes three separate times for at least one hour
    2-walk only on carpeting
3-after the completion of the three wearing, you should be able to ascertain if the fit is appropriate

See FAQ in my sig. If anyone has a better idea on where to put this, let me know. Still looking for additions! Want to add photos of all the different sole and edge trim options.

+1 info on the shoe rack would be appreciated. It's one of the nicer ones I have seen.

I can't speak for the racks pictured; however; shoe racks similar to the ones pictured can be had at AE or JosABank. JosABank runs a buy 1 get 2 free special somewhat regularly and that is the time to buy.

Between the master closet and the mudroom closet, my home has no fewer than 30 of them, and the smell of cedar is always welcome. Combine the smell of cedar with the smell of shell, and one has himself a delightful combination.

(Sorry, getting an error message with the quote function)

    Thank you, Uncle.

Thank you, Frank. Your modified pebble grains yesterday are very distinctive. IMO it's a 1up on the JCrew #8 PCT boot due to its multiple dimensions of exclusivity. I wanted to compliment them yesterday, but I held back because I fear that I am turning in to one of those guys that makes a lot of posts but adds little value. (Talks a lot, but says nothing)

The racks are from Woodlore, likely identical to the ones Seven mentioned, as I think Jos A., AE, and other cedar shoe accessories are just rebranded Woodlore products. They are stackable, and I plan on adding a fourth tier by the end of the year.

They're truly incredible in person. I know the SF Alden store has the normal ravello lwb's in stock.

The fellas with the indy boots with the normal ortho heel. What has been your replacment choices once they have worn down. did you get a replacement from Alden or go with another brand. I know for sure I will put heel taps on next go around, these suckers wore down fast.

I think they're dark, but unsure.

i have one question/issue about this. i find that its a lot harder to discern the fit on carpet. at least in my apartment, i find the carpet is thick enough that the padding from it can make an overly loose shoe feel like its a better fit than it actually is. i find much easier to get a sense of fit wearing it in the uncarpeted kitchen or bathroom.

    Roguls - thank you!

Bespoken - these were a recent purchase from Alden DC (just came in yesterday).

    These look great!

I was lucky enough the get the last 8.5D; can't wait to see them. I'm especially intrigued to see how the shoe looks with the brass eyelets in person.
