    Dbear,
can i ask what it was about them that said to you they are on the barrie?

It's def barrie. I asked and talked about it several times. Tried it on. Fit exactly like my other barries.

That's a plus for sure. Trubalance last is sorta clunky. Barrie on a boot is just about perfection.

I bought those cigar indys [IMG] They are fantastic, they feel like trubalance to me but I need my other boots with me to compare. And alas, they are at the factory getting repaired.

Just FYI - While perusing Shoemart's website over the weekend, I noticed they had ravello and cigar chukkas in some very popular sizes - ones that they didn't have just a few days prior. So at least we know some retailers are still getting ravellos, at least in some models. It also means that I will be getting some more ravellos.

    hmm,
all of the barrie lasted indy boots i have seen (and owned) have had a rounded crown of stitching on the apron, rather than the straighter line over the toe we see here. see the cigar from franz boone and the chemist boot from blackbird.
i also ordered their burgundy model of the same shoe, also told to be on the barrie, and it felt like Trub, to me (also had the straightened stitch).

that said, you could be right.
only one way for me to find out.

as a proud owner of these, i say a good suede brush and eraser go a LONG way on these. agreed that these will need maintenance after pretty much every wear but the scuffs do come out.

Can #8 be worn with red? Had on my #8 shoes and belt today with a blue suit and red tie. Had to change the tie because I felt like it was clashing. I can't imagine its approriate to wear #8's with red pants. Thoughts?

I just received a pair of the blue suede chukkas that LS made up on the Plaza last - amazing. I am planning to list my (very lightly) used blue suede PTBs (size 9 B/D on the Barrie) at a very cheap price on eBay later today. If a forum member is interested before I list them send me a PM.

I have no red pants and have no plans to get any. So I'm not much help there.
With red tie? Yes - most of the time.

You mean like Nantucket red pents?
    I think it'd look okay.

My money, based on the stitching, is it's the Trubalance (fits better anyway). I'll snap a comparison pick in a second.
