Since we're talking cordovan, I believe the proper phrase is 'I don't have a horse in this race".

It's certainly one of them, in addition to the fact that Venetian works better AFAIC and cost less and is what Horween recommends and uses.

Again, Sapir is not a bad product, if you are willing to spend your money on it, and like what it does for you, and you don't care about American heritage, go for it.

I like how Venetian performs better after trying both products. The fact that Horween themselves uses it and that it has a heritage which in many ways parallels that of both Horween and Alden, and that it costs less than Saphir, makes it a no brainer to me.

Venetian's American heritage is one factor to consider - no disagreement here. I have used both Venetian and Saphir products (Saphir Reno and Saphir's shell cordovan line) on my shells. In my experience, the shine with Venetian and Saphir Reno is quite similar; however, I have found Saphir's shell cordovan line to produce a better shine than Saphir Reno or Venetian.

We do not know that since they could be exported for slaughter. We treat our horses right!

It is a great looking boot. I see no problem wearing boots in the summer. Did it when I was a soldier. Lots of soldiers still do.

Does this product have the consistency of a cream or a wax?

    Gentlemen,

may i ask the shell cordovan No. 4 owner what paste wax colour / Saphir shell cordovan line colour do you recommend?
Especially for my new 2-tones saddle shoes i guess i will use neutral as it's best...sparingly of course.
