The tongue is stitched to the lining.
It's not visible from outside the shoe.

Thank you. I have three pair of bal wingtips--Alden 974, Church's Burwood in Black and Sandlewood--and don't know why I gravitated toward bals for casual as well as dress looks. Not one for the LWB myself--too heavy. De gustibus non disputandum est.

Why is Saphir better than Venetian shoe cream?

Look like #8's so it's less than the $650 or so they're going for normally. I'm anal when it comes to some things and that blemish would ruin it for me, even at $100-200 less. But that's just me. I think it really depends on whether that flaw is bothersome to you. For $50 or so more, you could get firsts, no?

I would pass and get exactly what you want cause that price is not special. That being said I think that could be taken care of with some work from the back of a spoon or a deer bone. Good luck.

That looks pretty awful, to be honest. That discount is not enough to justify buying that shoe. Skip on it.

the 403's are great - I have them - however, if wet weather is a concern of yours, the 404's (the Kudu Indys) might be worth your consideration, and they are nice in their own right, imho

I'd pass on that - I don't think that flaw could be fixed easily/inexpensively -
