There all on different lasts. For instance, the BB PTB is on the M58 last. Other BB Aldens are on different ones.

I believe that the color 8 LHS is on the Van last. It has more room than the Alden version. The Alden is tight, while the BB fits better, same size(most likely due to being unlined). Perhaps there are differences within the line, which I can't speak to. My 2¢.

I have a pair arriving I believe today. Unfortunately they are the wrong size, I have to send them back and get my size sent to me next week. I'll try to snap a few photos before I send em back.

    Alden for BB shoes:

captoe blucher (shell and suede) and captoe bal (shell): Snap last (like Hampton), runs TTS and, in my experience, runs slightly more narrow than the Hampton; I typically wear 9.5D in Snap and Hampton
PTB (shell): M-58 last (like Barrie); some go 1/2 size down just like they do with the Barrie - and this is actually what Alden recommends; however, whereas I usually wear 9D in the Barrie, I have bought the M-58 in 9.5C and 9.5D and both fit very well
Wingtip Bal - Shortwing (shell): M-75 last (like Plaza); for most this runs TTS; in my experience this shoe runs about 1/2 size smaller than the Plaza; I wear 9.5D in Plaza; I wear 10C in the M-75.
Monk Strap (shell): Aberdeen, it is TTS; I wear 9.5D

The BB lasts noted above are not based on speculation; it has been confirmed by a contact I have at Alden - the person literally works at the factory. The comments are based on personal experience - I own every shell model that BB sells. Hopefully this helps .....

Perhaps you'd be better served to contact any Alden retailer that sells it.
    From the LS website:

    Alden Leather Defender

We were so excited to learn about this new product from Alden that we ordered 500 bottles! Leather Defender is Alden’s answer to rain spots on shell cordovan. Personally formulated by the President and Owner of Alden Shoe, Art Tarlow, Leather Defender protects both shell cordovan and calfskin from rain and stains while making your shoes look great.

Unfortunately we can not ship these Internationally but please pick up a bottle (or 10) the next time you visit us. Your shoes will thank you.

    ($15.00)

To clarify, I own every laced shell shoe made by Alden for BB. I can't speak to the slip-ons. Sorry

Shells last so we are supposed to need less of them, but shells are also very addictive :) Too right about shell prices going up and up.

While I agree that the price increases for shell sorta hurt, to put things in perspective, some non-shell British shoes such as John Lobbs go for ~ $1,500. And that's for Calf, not Shell.

That makes Aldens seem like a good deal in comparison.
