1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

For the most part, yes. And even yes sometimes when you are looking for a color 8 boot with dark edging. But don't be discouraged, some on this thread (perhaps many) would maintain that color 8 boots with dark edging - wingtip or otherwise - are the best. :D

I've been looking as we'll. No luck in my size even in #8.

By definition it's burdensome to find rare shell boots in cordovan, wingtip or not. You have to either get in a retailer's preorder/reserce list or follow this thread and store websites closely.

I understand, but my fingers are itching for a boot and I needed an Alden shell in my life. Stinks the one(s) I want are currently/tentatively/eternally unattainable due to a lack of availability. Was thinking of going the non shell route towards the C&J Skye or cap toe...

^ Epaulet Brixton? I thought they would be coming soon with all the recent batches of Ravello that have been popping up at several different retailers lately. I think this month makes it an even 2 years now since that order was placed.

Do you really need it by Alden? Sounds like a McNairy/sanders model.

I wonder how Alden figures out when to fill certain orders. We know a lot of ravello has popped up recently, but a lot of that has been in "stock" models (chukkas, longwings, etc).

Sometime boots pop up out of the blue (like the Unionmade ravello captoe boots - I don't recall that being publicized in a preorder or anything), so you have to be diligent. If you want rare cordovan, "stock" models like longwings, PTBs and chukkas seem to pop up more often than some of the high boots.

McNairy doesn't have lasts because he doesn't make the shoes. But I get what you're saying.

I have color 8 with dark edging and I have color 8 with antique edging. I easily prefer dark edging.
