Kashiwa, They look good on. Jealous! Although the argyle OTC's are hard to beat!

Saxon Shoes (Richmond, VA) is no longer stocking Alden and expanding their selection of Allen Edmonds, so what's left of their Alden selection is 25% off: shell cordovan penny loafers ($625), and Cape Cod horsebit loafers ($325). The saleswoman said any remaining stock would be 50% off after July 4th. If you're an irregular size you'd probably have better luck.

Seriously, PTBs look great but I hate the damn Barrie last. Why the hell is everything made on it - argh.

^^ I'm not sure why the Barrie last needs to be so shallow in the heel. Is there a logical explanation for this? I understand that some people may have wider heels and the extra width may be necessary (although I would question whether the width of the Barrie is really appropriate for most people). But why such a shallow heel?

Moulded shoe recently blogged on the Barrie vs. Modified. That extra height in the heel sure would help me, I think.

Ravello SWB in the wild. The low 6am sun made these look pretty orange.

Totally. Probably the best suited boot from Alden's line. The lug sole on that boot is the key.
