I found that sizing the barrie last isnt simply size down 1/2 from your usual size, at least not for everyone.

yup, i suspect that for my foot, my ideal barrie size = full size down + E width. still haven't been able to confirm (E widths don't come up on B+S very often), but i'm pretty sure that's the case.

I am fortunate I can do both. However, the full size down + E does make for a better fitting shoe. the half size down is just a hair long for me.

Yeah tweaking the width works wonders. Found out i am an 8.5 E in the hampton last, and I take an 8D in barrie (although admittedly I think I'd prefer an 8E, though 8D is great with thin socks)

Just listed a pair of 10 D color 8 LWB on Ebay. Here's a link:

I just can't get the sizing right on the Barrie last. I'll try again, as one does with true love, but I may end up being a full size and a half off my proper fit in standard U.S. sizing. Wish I lived near a brick-and-mortar store so I could try a few different sizes on.
At any rate, sorry for the griping. It's just disappointing because I got such a good deal on these babies (from the TSM irregular list) and they're gorgeous, but they simply don't fit.

What's your particular issue with the fit

The width feels good, but they're flat-out too long. The frightening thing is that they feel more than half a size too long. So if I went down another full size, I'd be at one and a half sizes below my standard size.

Yeah I'm about the same. For boots it's not usually an issue but with the LWBs and the like I have some issues sometimes

Do tell me more about this Pegasus leather though...

I think I saw some irregulars of those LWBs. Kudu seems like a pretty good choice - I think some PTB would be lovely.

No, no - those were all great ideas! As for the Pegasus leather, I've only come across it on these Epaulet Black & Tan Indy boots. It's from Horween, and is very soft and comfortable but also very tough. And it does really well in the rain. That, coupled with the black neoprene / cork Indy sole makes it a good boot for bad weather. But in a week of drizzly weather, I don't want to just wear them everyday!

So maybe something in Kudu would be good to have. I'll keep looking. No one has really said whether I'm crazy or not about the (properly sprayed) suede idea though...

Just called Tom Austin...nothing good in my size unfortunately. But, my NRO snuff suede chukkas should be arriving sometime today. :D

He was a freat guy when I spoke with him last week. I may have to get some AE's from him. :slayer:

Also I recieved my MKII Kingston in the mail today and used my Leather Soul Ultimate Indy's as a prop for my ****** pics.

The watch is really great looking and there are a lot of great pics of them on the Internet. I cannot take good watch pics and have not removed the protective platics yet. Here is a pic somone else took:

My version is the date version with blue lume. I am expecting a non-date version with green lume in the middle of June. :)
