Good to hear you're both getting responses quickly...fingers crossed that they will release it again next year. Colin also got back to me and said they would keep my email on file and get back to me if they decided to offer it again in the future. If I don't hear back in a few months I will probably reach back out to them, because I'm sure they need to put the order back in to Alden months before they are planning on selling the shoe again, which would most likely be S/S '13

Yes, here are the cute little newborns for you:-

They are my little babies, and ever since they arrived my Aldens have felt very threatened and rejected and a lot of them have even left home!

Out of curiosity, what's the general consensus on LWB vs. SWB?

I prefer the shortwing, but I see way more longwings here.

    YA!!

And you should feel how well they wear, rain or shine, hot or cold, always frigging amazing. They look good with jeans, a caraceni suit, short cargo pants, dammit, I even feel tempted to go surfing with them on some days.

Really, Camel hide lining, especially the double camel hide lining, has been the best thing I have ever done with cordovan boots.

Yeah I guess cxl vs. shell isn't a fair fight. Maybe the real question is if I should buy #8 right now or wait for a re-stock of cigar shell indys.
I'll be rotating them with my whiskey indys as my everyday shoes, almost always paired with some darker raw denim. I don't know if color 8 is too fancy for that or not.

Alden simply makes more longwings, which is why you see them more often... SWB is a bit dressier of a shoe, but longwings are great as well. I don't really prefer one or the other

CXL Indy boots are (at least to me) an all weather, all condition, good looking boot. Color 8 (or cigar) Indy boots can also do that but people tend to not wear them as much in rain, mud, etc. I think either the brown leather or CXL Indy boots are awesome and should be a part of any Alden collection, but if you are only going to own one, get Color 8 or cigar...

But you aren't going to only own one, so get a CXL and a cordovan Indy.

The LW is simply a very classic shoe. I myself prefer the wingtip bal on the tremont last.

No Kudu Indy love? They may be the best foul weather version. Thoughts?

I have a pair of kudu longwings and really love them. And you are correct about them being a good foul weather option - the water just rolls right off of them.

Ah yes, the voice of reason has spoken. My wallet and I thank you. Good thing those commando sole cigar indys are nowhere to be found.

A month ago I would have said LWB, but after seeing these, I'm not so sure...
