I called Alden DC, and they told me they have that makeup. Not sure about sizing though...

This is easy. I have both and Ravello. Whiskey is the most over rated shell color. Ravello goes with a hell of a lot more and looks better.

Here is a pic of my Cigar and Ravello brand new side by side:

Here is a pic of my Whiskey LWB's when new:

I wear the Whiskey LWB's a fair amount but I love the look of the Ravello more.

Yeah prefer the jumpers a bit more I think, but they don't have a 10E for preorder though, which I think is now my preferred fit even though I have four boots in 10.5D, they are just too long. And yeah shoe boxes are super small, especially when you have the boots shipped and the speedhooks dig into the other shoe.

despite the fact what alden will do or not.

one width is six millimeter of material. from where should this come from? reducing might be possible, enhancing seems impossible to me.

the question is how much room do you need? when a cobbler stretches them professional, we're talking about two to three millimeter. you could take the risk. it cost you somewhat ten bucks a pop and you can still sell them with the labeled size. any decent cobbler will give you the information you need upfront. so you only take action, when you're totally sure. hope this helps.

    good luck.

Hey guys I'm new here and new to the whole high end shoe thing (sorta). Until about a week ago my nicer work boots were Chippewa's and a pair of Asolo Hiking boots. I decided to buy a pair of Alden 405 boots from Shoemart. I spoke to Floyd from Alden and he pointed me to Shoemoart which is local to where I live. Bob from Shoemart was a pleasure to deal with. My boots fit great and I couldn't be happier. Below are some pictures of the boots, me wearing them while driving a deuce and a half army truck, and one of my Omega seamster. Hope you enjoy them, as I have enjoyed checking out all the pictures you guys have posted.

I have a fair amount of Alden calf shoes and am starting to think CXL is my favorite offering from Alden. I also love the Alden Suede and still wish to pick up some pairs:

White Suede saddle shoes on red brick soles (From Alden DC):

Same white suede saddle shoes after more than a few wears:

White suede PTB's (Seconds from The Shoe Mart. Still new in box as of this post):

Here is a great pair of brown calf LWB's that I picked up from Leather Soul next to Ravello LWB's. Both of these are great shoes.

Snuff suede plain to boots on crepe sole (Seconds from The Shoe Mart):

Black Pebble grain LWB from Brooks Brothers next to Paprika Pebble Grain from Leather Soul:

The Brown/Paprika pebble grain is one of my go to rain shoes.

I have more leather as well. I have a pair of Ultimate Indy's from Tom at Leather Soul that I love and I also have a pair of calf color #8 short wing's on the plaza last that I wear mostly when it calls for rain. I also have a pair of J. Gilbert Footwear reverse chamois Indy shoes which have been getting a lot of rainy day wear. I prefer the calf when it rains to avoid water spots.

I need to take some new pics. All of these pics are a year old at least.

I feel compelled (again) to defend whiskey. I have been wearing my whiskey boots with the bright colored pants everyone seems to be wearing this spring / summer - I find whiskey goes best with these hues. They also work well with white and some blue pants, and of course denim of all shades.

Here are some more recent pics

Don't know if I'll ever understand pebblegrain. Looks like mall fodder to me... :embar:

I LOVE pebble/scotch grain. But I have heard your view many times as well. Luckily there are enough choices for everyone.

I contacted 'Alden' recently via email - Made a post or two about it - I emailed 'Alden' about re sizing - Alden's reply was, "Sorry we no longer offer this service"! And I asked about bespoke and again it was again a no. Hopefully you have better luck with them.
Otherwise try professional shoe stretch route. I've heard some say its great for attaining a half size! No more than that really!
