Uncle, I picked up something pretty basic (after last week's haul of ravello medallion captoes) - a pair of black soft calf flex welt tassel loafers. I am very stoked, as they're comfortable right off the bat. I wanted a pair in shell to replace the poorly-sized one I sold, but the Aberdeen is too long and narrow for me, so I have been deprived. The masses seem to desire "sleek" shoes, but at the end of the day, my foot is wide and I have a high instep, so sleek is out the window for me. However, this pair (in an 8.5EEE, of all sizes) on the Copley last is positively perfect. Oh, and since Alden's not going to make them any longer, I got them for a song. This is my first flex welt pair and I really dig them.

I have DBs in size 12, and the 403s in size 12C - they fit pretty similarly. The Clarks are slightly wide on me, but I just lace them up as tight as I can to get them to fit. If they offered a narrow width in the DB, I definitely would have gotten those over the standard D width. And I had to size down from my standard Brannock size of 12.5 to fit into both of these.

We all know why the Indy is called the Indy...can anybody shed light on why the Tanker has its name?

I was trying to get the info so quickly, that I wasn't able to get the release dates too. Any particular pair you wanted me to check? The ravello longwings? I can take a look tomorrow and see what I can find out.

Huh? The boots are inspired by military tanker boots, hence the name.

I want Navy suede as well! What I'd love is the Leffott version in a PTB instead of the LWB. I have too many long wings already.

I'd be interested in knowing the type of sole on the Ravello LWB.
