Another point of comparison - I happened to wear my Alden of Carmel Cigar LWBs today as well. I took a couple of shots in different lighting....

Thanks to all of you gentlemen who led me to the light and showed me that keeping the #4 WT boots was the way to go.
Here are a few shots from today's maiden voyage.
Notice how much different they look in the natural light (3rd pic, although a cloudy day here in NYC)

Did you just get them? If so, you can return them to RL. I think they are pretty good with returns.

Just curious, what is the fit issue with them? I have a pair on order and I ordered the same size I wear in Barrie.

I got them used off B&S. Previous owner probably wore them 5-6 times and I did the same so can't return. My earlier Barrie lasted shoes were 8.5D but realized that I'm better in a 8D. I add leather insoles to my 8.5 shoes so I can still wear them. The Marlow in 8.5D is a little loose for me in the heel even with an insole. Gives me blisters on the side of my heel.

Personally, I would go with a darker color...Cigar or #8. Whiskey is not so versatile, IMO.

hmmh, it's a casual shoe per definition. should look good in lighter shades, imo.

Quick question for all the cordovan experts:

Is this creasing excessive or reasonable? (Alden 990 #8 Cordovan)
