    totally agree - and btw if your Whisky Chukka and Atoms were size 11 - we both could be happy - i do love # 4 so bad. Waiting for J. Gilbert #4/black Shell Saddle special make up

    here we go - apprx. 2 years old Natural CXL NST Tankers

    cleaned last week for the 1st time with Saphir Renomat and 2 coats of Neats Foot Oil they appear like that

    Must be new shoe day at SF. Here is a quick, crappy iPhone pic of my #8 captoe boots with commando sole on grant last from Alden of DC. I'll take a pic with my Cigar captoe boots when I get a chance.

    Thank you. I ask because under "Care of Shell Cordovan" on the Alden of Carmel website, there are instructions from a longtime customer for polishing new cordo, apparently with the goal of preventing water spots, etc.

    You can use a light layer or layers of wax polish if you want to add some protective layer to them but not too much or else it dulls it out.

    You can also leave them as it is and just brush them.

    Doing one or the other will not make a significant change. I have done both ways with my shells and all of them are fine.
