Just received these from TSM. Very reminiscent of the Alden x Obscura makeup.

Alden Brown for Cigar. Which color do you recommend from the Saphir line? I bought a tin of Bordeaux for my #8's, but am still unsure of the best Cigar match. Perhaps we can add these color coordinations to your master post every month.

When I first purchased my NattyCXL 403s, I saw a ton of pics done up with the wrap-around technique. I've only ever employed the same and never completely laced up the speed hooks... :embar:

I love that color. These look great! They should use these for their stock photo instead.

I have a tin of Saphir medium brown for my Cigar captoe boots and C&J for RL Marlows.

Just bit the bullet and ordered my first pair of Aldens, the 403 Indy boot from Shoemart! Ahhh now to play the anxious waiting game sitting and watching my door waiting for the UPS man to come knock [IMG]

That sucks. I decided I wanted another cordovan boot so today I ordered the #8 captoe boots with commando sole from Kathy at Alden of DC to match my cigar captoe boots. Now the long wait to get them on the West Coast....

I've noticed some plastic sticking up around the welt of my Indy 403s... it's like a lining of some sort ... is this part of the storm welt piece to seal against water?

I noticed that on both of my indys I tore it off thgouht it was just plastic leftover from the sole? Didn't affect my kudus in snow

Without seeing it, I would say, yes. The storm welt has a "finger" or flange of plastic coming up from the welt. It's stitched through and seals the outsole.
