There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

+2. Leffot seems very hit and miss (more miss, really) with their Alden makeups.

    Shoe tree question:

I picked up a pair of 9.5 c/e alden shoes a few days that I found in a consignment store (someone on this forum mentioned they looked like they are on the plaza last). I have only one other pair of alden boots which are a 9.5 B/D which is what I normally wear but the C/E width felt fine in the store.

When I got the shoes home I took the Alden shoe trees from my boots and placed them in the shoes I just purchased to clean them up a bit and I noticed that the shoe trees seemed to be pushing the sides of the shoes pretty hard..to the point where it looked like they would stretch them out a bit if I left them in.

Has anyone experienced this before? The shoe trees are standard width im pretty sure and dont push the sides of my B/D width shoes. The shoes dont appear to be narrow by any means.
Is the plaza last just much more narrow than the barrie?

    thanks for any info

Ha, thanks. The beauty of shell is that with a little brushing and a little Renovateur those boots go right back to looking babied. :)

Leffot is redoing the naval boot in color 8, last time I heard

Leffot does more suede, more crepe / commando, more loafers, more natural chromexcel, etc than I think is the threads taste, but I will put several of their makeups up as some of the best we've seen recently (ravello day tripper, ravello tassels, color 8 / alpine saddle, the Greenwich boots in suede and chamois, the snuff copely boot, etc)

Greetings, I am looking for some sizing advice. My Indy boots are too big so it's not as easy as size up one half size. I wear Allen Edmonds 5 last in 8.5. My Darltons fit perfect at size 7.5. My Rancourt pennies are 8 and a little loose. Clark's desert boots are 8. Polo made in Italy wax suede wings are 8.

My Indys are too big but I don't know if its a full size or half a size so I don't want to use that as a reference. I've done a lot of searching to look for size comparisons and even length comparisons so I'm not just trying to throw this question out there ignorantly....although that may seem the case.

Ay size recommendations for Plaza last?

    Thank - you.

It would also be nice if they offered size 12.5 for those of us with big feet! I sent them an email, and basically got back a response consisting of "sorry."

Similar for those of us with wide. I understand nobody will order a ton of wides, but none? For shoes that might not arrive until babies conceived today are born?

so they're just copying the j. crew version? no point in that. they're available at j. crew online and many brick and mortar j. crew stores. i have them. i love them... but not particularly original.

360 vs 270 welt, stitching on the side of the boot is different, eyelets vs speedhooks. It's good to have options :)

leffot is two blocks from my office. i would do it just as a courtesy if they let you pay for them and then let me pick them up... i would have no problem shipping them to you when they arrive (in god knows how long).

Ya I don't think it's appropriate for you to wear pink shoes to work. But your student has some nice Aldens :p

    What's your dream makeup?

Mine is a cigar wingtip boot, barrie last, brass eyelets with no speed hooks, double waterlock sole with flat welt.

Off the wall question: what is the smallest size Alden makes their Indys in? My wife would like a pair, but wears a 7 in women's running shoes, which would translate to roughly a 4 or 4.5 in Alden Indy Boots. Any thoughts?
