^^^ Very nice boots. I agree that they would be a good alternative to the Indy. I'm going to keep waiting for the captoe cigar shell on the Grant last. But if someone would do this perf cap toe in shell I would change my mind.

Can't wait for the day trippers (captoe ravello on grant last) - I still don't have a pair of cigar shell... nothing looks compelling enough yet

Just received the Whiskey Indy boots from Kathy, I notice that the rubber heels don't flush with the leather heel slip part, is that a common thing for foot balance heels?

Anything similar to the Leffot Naval boot? Looking for a pair of cleaner black shell boots and just want to see what my options are outside of the standard Alden models

Has anyone used Moulded Shoes in NYC for resoling?
I am thinking of sending them a pair of flex welt sole and have them resole them to an Alden commando sole.

I would have loved to spend my money at LS, but the order was closed and nothing else in stock for me in a 9e unfortunately. The LS model is a beautiful shoe, I am sure you will enjoy it.

    thanks kindly.

With all the size issues with Alden and lack of inventory and limited runs, I am more than happy to pay extra for something I really like.

The cigar captoe is a beautiful shoe. I wish it fit my wide feet or they made it on a Trubalance last. Agree with you, would love this in a shell as well.

And that's why Alden does well. Folks will always pay "that little extra"

Speaking of size issues, my little guy can't talk and he STILL complains about the Barrie last.

    Hi all,

I'm a newbie to Alden. Have picked up 2 pairs of Alden shoes from Leathersoul and looking at adding a navy suede shoe to my Alden collection for spring/summer wear.

Which do you prefer? I have tried out the chukka at my local dealer and like the fit and look. However I also like the LS navy suede short wings, but haven't tried it on to compare. Looking to wear these with jeans and chinos.

Both are pretty unique and sharp in the navy suede.

Care to share your thoughts? I know it does come down to personal preference, but just wanted to get a feel from all you Alden fanatics[IMG] and to help me finalize my decision.
