Can we ban Mediahound from this thread. I'd rather not watch his porn again.

Interesting, yes but I don't think they are very attractive. Those were made for people who have had foot surgery where it's difficult for them to get their feet in and out of other shoes while recuperating. I guess they could be sorta cool in a goth way though.

You may not have made the video, but you subjected the rest of us to it. I may be relatively new, but I know how to use some decent judgment.

What do you wear it with? I have a whiskey chukka that I love, but I see the cigar getting more wear

Probably a dumb question, but after about 10 or so wearings with the double leather sole, is it possible to have a cobbler or even B.Nelson apply a rubber sole guard? Or would it just not adhere as well since it's been worn? Thanks in advance!

Should be fine. AFAIK, new soles need to be roughed anyway to help with adhesion. I'm sure Nick (B. Nelson) will take care of them.

As much as I'm for Nick getting business this is a pretty simple job that literally any competent cobbler can do. No need to ship to NYC for it

The real question though is is it even worth doing?

This look familiar? Description says they are Barrie but to me they look like TruBalance...

By chance, are these uppers black chromexcel or just regular calf?

They look like the Epaulet black & tan model to me. Especially with the black sole.

sure they will be less slippery and water won't damage the soles nearly as much

I guess I'm just sort of a purist. I dislike it when people add those strange rubber things to nice leather soles.

I stumbled across this video when searching YouTube for 'shell cordovan'. I don't think these are Aldens but had to share anyway.  Not sure what the deal is?...:
