Honestly the PTB that I now have in 10D on crepe does fit tighter than my 10D longwings (and my 10D chukkas) in Barrie. I don't necessarily mind it because it gives the PTB a bit of a sleeker look. But there is a difference.

Are you certain it's the same last? Alden does make PTBs on a last called M58 and probably other lasts other than the Barrie.

Alden uses that last for BB shoes. I've never seen it used elsewhere (besides being sold as seconds).

Its Barrie (shoe says 10 B/D).

It's not uncommon for different patterns to fit different on the same last (the norweigian split toe is known for this)

Do realize that does not mean Barrie necessarily.

Your Vass whiskey looks like it has darkened in time. I wonder if my Alden whiskey will age similarly. Personally I like the lighter tan color but my PTBs are just 3 months old. [IMG] My Alden PTB (on the Barrie last purchased form Madison NY) is 'snug' but generally fits the same way as my other Barrie lasted shoes. Maybe the 'wholecut' construction somehow makes it fit differently? Not really sure.

I think the whiskey longwing has to be added to the wish list

The B/D has nothing to do with the specific last "title". It's the width ratio "B" being the heel and "D" being ball of your foot as many Alden lasts are 'combination' lasts. This is the info i was given a while back by Alden NY...

You could have a Trubalance, Plaza, Grant etc with B/D stamped on the lining.

there is also A/C and C/E etc, etc, :foo:

Just reserved a pair of whiskley LWB a couple weeks ago and picked up a pair of Tricker's Stow in Acorn. I have a pre-order of Epaulet's whiskey wingtip boot... I think one of the three wings will eventually go on B&S...
