Mayyyyybe if you go by looks alone, but the difference in comfort between the two brands is night and day!

I should know, I'm wearing a pair of Red Wings right now.

I guess they are supposed to look industrial. I think I'll stick with my Indy boots. What some may not realize is those were originally work boots. And Harrison Ford wore them as a carpenter long before he did for the movies too.

    Isn't that a fairly well-worn tale?

Indeed. It seems that anyone who has been around here for more than a minute knows this story.

What are people's thoughts on the Indy 405 vs 403? I have the 403 but sometimes have second thoughts and wish I had bought the original. I've also heard that the 405 color can sometimes be too orange.

I see Leffot has the 405 with commando sole, which is tempting my wallet.

Is there a place online to order the wingtip bootsin #8 with a rubber sole in a size 12 or 11 1/2 D? I'm looking on Alden of Carmel but they only have up to 11. Anywhere else?

^ I don't own a balmoral shoe - only bluchers (and I've managed to evade the fashion police when I wear suits, at least up to now).

    Kippy,
I apologize. I carried this too far. Stressful week at work I guess.
Thanks for the pic/caption--I can appreciate that humor.:nodding:

I have the 405 and think sometimes I should have gotten the 403. The clear answer is to buy both. lol
