1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I just received a pair of the blue suede chukkas that LS made up on the Plaza last - amazing. I am planning to list my (very lightly) used blue suede PTBs (size 9 B/D on the Barrie) at a very cheap price on eBay later today. If a forum member is interested before I list them send me a PM.

I have no red pants and have no plans to get any. So I'm not much help there.
With red tie? Yes - most of the time.

You mean like Nantucket red pents?
    I think it'd look okay.

My money, based on the stitching, is it's the Trubalance (fits better anyway). I'll snap a comparison pick in a second.

Good call on picking those up. They look killer. Hows the fit?

Do you happen to know if they ran any in e width?

Stitching is definitely round, as opposed to softly squared....

No pants in mind in particular. I was just asking in the hypothetical sense. The tie I had on was like a vibrant red/burnt orange. I just didn't feel right about it. Same with black shoes and a blue suit. I know people say its okay to do, but I never do it because I think it looks like a cop, or a mail man, or a train conductor, or just plain bad.

I think color 8 would look fine with red. Color 8 does have some red undertones deep in the shoe.

Ravello looks better with red, though.

I do not have these but do love the look. They look like a great makeup and a lot of fun to wear.

I do have white suede shoes and pretreated with AE and it did not change the color. Just be careful to spray evenly and let it dry.

As for the care, you have to forget about keeping them the original color. The first few scuffs will look bad but eventually they will start to look great again. If you try to keep them pristine you just will not enjoy the shoe. I am not sure if this will work for pale grey but I purchased a reasonable suede kit that includes eraser and brush for a reasonable price from Off Broadway shoes. With that I can make my shoes look pretty white again. Than I can hit them with baby powder or ground white chalk in an old sock or a buck bag:

These should be enjoyed, not feared.

I would not do this. White suede, tan suede and whiskey will all be much better. I love wearing whiskey PTB's with Nantucket red's. :slayer:

Red and #8 aren't going to clash as much as you think. Just last weekend I wore a blue OCBD w/ nantucket reds and #8 short wings. Many compliments. Go for it. The egplant color is different enough, and that distance between tones is widened if the #8 has aged at all.

^ looking good W, don't see anything wrong with that red pant/color 8 combo!

Update on my order from NRO, from about a month ago when they had the 25% off sale:

Got my original order pretty quickly, however the shoes were too tight and I needed to exchange them for a half size bigger. I sent the shoes back to them about 2 weeks ago, and I was waiting for a response to see if they got my return and when I could expect my new pair to be shipped to me. Didn't hear anything until this past weekend, however it wasn't anyone from NRO that contacted me. I got a random call from some woman in Georgia (I live in South Carolina), saying that she received a pair of shoes that had my information on the order slip inside the box. She opened the package when she got it because it had her name and address on it. Luckily, all my info (including my phone #) was on the order slip, so she called me to let me know that NRO had shipped my order to her by mistake. She contacted NRO, had to wait a few days for them to get back to her, but they finally did and they gave her a shipping label so that she could ship the shoes back to them. They, in turn, will then ship the shoes back to me.

I called NRO today and they played dumb and said my shoes will be shipping shortly. I told them I got a call from the woman in Georgia that received my order by mistake. Then they backtracked and said they should get the shoes back to their warehouse by tomorrow, and then they will overnight them to me. So, all in all I should finally get my shoes by the end of this week. It's been a bit of a pain in the ass, and I'm hoping nothing else gets screwed up between now and then. Even at 25% off, I'm not sure if I would order from them again in the future.

The 25% off NRO coupon is now active and I just tried it and it worked. Enter "USA" upon checkout. You're crazy if you don't think saving 25% off on any Alden pair they have is worth it. I ordered from them before and had no problems at all. Enjoy.

Thanks for relaying you experience. I'd certainly stay away from NRO based upon everything.

hate how they don't carry 7.5D in barrie. Anybody know if an 8C in barrie would be comparable to 7.5 barrie?

Really? They seemed to right the situation and the man's getting his shoes. They're allowed to make a mistake, and they are not screwing the guy over here....

Let's not forget, he ordered the wrong size to begin with. I've certainly seen poorer service from Theshoemart than this.
