Is there a reason why alden san fran shows sale shoes and not alden dc? In fact, I can't find a alden dc site. Is there an alden dc sale list?

I don't think you need to learn to love it. I bought those boots and returned them b/c I...felt the same as you

As documented a few pages back, I expressed my disappointment at not pulling the trigger on some Ravello LWBs from Lefot. Another forum member pointed out that they were available at Alden of San Francisco, so I jumped on them. The purchase indicated that my credit card wouldn't be charged until they were certain they had my size and were ready to ship. The next day, my card was charged and I was relieved that my hesitation didn't cost me. However, the following day, I got an email from Brenda at Alden of SF saying my size was sold out and my order cancelled. As my card had been charged, I asked for a further explanation and inquired if anything could be done. I got a return email that in preparing my order for shipping, the shoes were found to be defective. I was really disappointed. Well, an hour or so later I got a voicemail from Kathy at Alden of Washington DC indicating that they had what I wanted. I was completely shocked. I called and made the purchase. She told me they were the last available pair in any store but they were the display pair and one shoe was a slightly different color. She gave me a big discount and is sending the shoes with a return shipping label if I don't like them. Now that's what I call some seriously excellent customer service. Bravo Brenda and Kathy.

New J.Crew snuff suede lwb that were on back order since early December. Luckily got them for 30% off. While the J.Crew site shows them with double leather soles, these are with the double oiled soles which I wanted. Unfortunately didn't ship with box or bags and there were some minor cosmetic issues. They are darker in real life and will hide them in the closet while I decide whether to keep them. Can't let the wife know I just got a second pair of shoes in the past week :)

You're making me slightly regret cancelling my order for those. I thought I had spent enough on shoes, and wanted something other than LWBs in the end. I do need some brown calf shoes for the summer now.
