    Hmm...quite fishey....

Maybe Allen Edmonds has hired a hitman and they are selectively and systematically "taking care of" Alden collectors...:eh:

maybe mens GaGa was actually a teenager who broke into the home of a wealthy Japanese Alden collector when he was on vacation.

Is that a Bru or Jumeau doll in the background? If so, you could buy a whole lotta Alden's ;)

The length sizing for the Barrie in particular for me with long narrow feet has been a bit of a problem. In addition to the 12B Plaza Chukka, I have a NST and the AlanC boot in the Barrie, both 11.5B, and I could easily size down a 1/2 size in length to 11 on each of the Barrie pairs. I think an 11.5 Plaza would be a bit tighter but I think it would work. I'm wearing the chukka's today and there is room in the toe box. But, I'd like to see how the 11.5 fits sometime. But not with a "D" width, and hence my problem. Narrow feet are really hard to size right, especially with these big Alden lasts. The Trubalace in 11.5A fits me well.

Here is a top down photo of two of my boots. On the left is the LS Brown CXL Pitt boot with flat welt while on the right is the AoC AF84 Brown Calf Wingtip boot with the storm welt. Both are 8.5Ds on the Barrie last. I always think the Pitt looks a little sleeker when I wear them.

My CXL Pitt boots has a rough finish on the toe, as if I took sandpaper and sanded the shiny finish off. I can't seem to get the texture of the leather to match the shiny, oily looking finish on the rest of the shoe. I've tried using shoe polish and Montana pitch blend but it still looks the same. Any idea and how to fix this?
