1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I actually bought this year's version of those denim selvedge officer's chinos b/c I liked the ones you sold me so much! I've been paranoid about wearing them w/ suede though....

I do, but I go sockless (or super thin socks) in the Van last. It's atouch shorter and a touch more narrow. But works pretty well.

Im sure it'll bleed but unlike raw denim that bleeds after just an hour, these didn't bleed at all after a 4 hour wear. I'm sure humidity plays a factor. Cali .. :)

+1, I'm 8.5 in Barrie and Van. Van is a bit more snug but that works very well for e.g. the LHS

My latest addition to my gunboat collection (Ravello from Alden of DC). I think these maybe my favorite ones!

+1...I'm a 9.5D in both lasts: LWB/Barrie and LHS/Van. LHS is definitely a bit more snug all around (tad shorter and narrower), but for a loafer it works, since you don't want any heel slippage. If you wear thick socks, consider sizing up a half-size.

Thanks everyone for your feedback on my "what will my next pair of Alden's be" question. I'm probably going to do something in Ravello, since I own nothing in that color, though not yet sure what...

Are you considering the LHS on the Van last? The LHS doesn't work for everybody for the strap can dig into the top of your feet. I size up a width to an E to alleviate that problem. Hope this helps.

That helps a lot. I will try them on at a store tomorrow. Any advice for the LHS... Cigar or #8??

Got my color 8 cap toe on Grant last from Alden DC (great service btw) and now I understand the brand following and addiction:D. It's not just the appearance but comfort is superior as well.

Excuse my poor pictures and jeans roll:

Very nice! I've got almost the same boots (but TSM edition, without speed hooks) on the way. Those look great, how do you like the Grant last?

    thanks!

Well, I've tried shell LWB in Barrie last and decided to go for a bit slimmer last for my first pair of shells (first Aldens as well). After doing some research, decided to go for cap toe boot. I'm size 9US on Brennock device and tried Barrie in 8.5US and the fit was a bit snug. After trying Grant in 9US, the fit and sleek appearance are great.

Me too - size 9D on the Brannock (my foot may be smaller but it's larger since it flattens out due to my low arch). The Barrie is loose on my heel for sure but snug along some of my toes - the Plaza last works well for me in the 9D, you may wanna give that one a shot!

This may have been previously discussed, but what is the female equivalent shoe company to Alden? Fashion aside, I'm talking quality, comfort, made in the US, if possible. Let's see what you guys and women too, have to say. Thanks.
