When it comes to fit, it's generally better to try things on for yourself. Not everyone's foot is created the same, and some peoples' feet are suited to other lasts more so than another last. Just try out the chukka and return if it doesn't seem to work out.

Also -- Leffot offered a ravello captoe some time ago. They probably don't have any left, but you could call other Alden stores to see if they have any in stock.

The Leydon lasted suede chukkas fit quite nice, I think. Much preferred to the Barrie shell chukkas.

You are correct. Barrie + shell + chukka makes for a very loose fit. Even Tom at LS has mentioned it.

^ I think that's why he's started making his shell chukkas on the Plaza. He seems to favor the Plaza for many makeups.

The Plaza and Hampton lasts are my favorite that Alden uses.

Speaking of the Plaza last... I sent Adam of AoC an email about a Plaza make up and he said that his store is no longer going to carry Plaza lasted shoes. He directed me to J. Gilbert.

sounds like you and i are looking for the same type of shoes (something that works with both jeans and a suit).

i'm happy with the versatility of my #8 wingtip boots, although the opinion of this thread seems to be that barrie-lasted alden boots are no good. i'm happy with them though: http://www.theshoemart.com/alden-me..._m_9_eyelet_wing_tip_boot_shell_cordovan.html

God I'm so tempted to get in on the pre-order for the #8 Plaza Indy's by LS... Any current owners care to share some nice fit pics of them?
