I have the LS snuff suede flex welts. Not roughed up at all yet, but they are great--very versatile. Jeans+khakis. I'm not a fan of the tanker boot styling, personally.

I'm currently working on a new pair of Alden for BB LHS's (unlined). They are an 8.5E and I'm a 9.25E generally. Length is perfect, but my high instep is giving me a bit of grief. They are getting better with each wearing, however. It's a known issue - just Google Alden LHS tight or Alden LHS stretch and you will get a good number of threads on Ask Andy. The consensus seems to be that the shoes will eventually become wonderful - so we'll see.

Beautiful chukkas, aging nicely and that's quite a shine. And with corduroy trousers. It all does look very relaxed indeed. Thanks for the photo.

Hi all. New here and in pursuit of my first pair of Alden's.

I primarily want a pair to wear with a suit, but like the rugged look of some of the boots.

What would you all recommend/ feel is your most versatile pair of dress orientated Alden's?

    Cheers.

Wingtip or cap toe boot in #8 or Cigar. And preferably not on Barrie. Grant or Plaza would be ideal.

If I had the money I would go for these cordovan wingtip boots

    http://www.aldenmadisonny.com/SHELL3.html

    or these calfskin wingtip boots

    http://www.theshoemart.com/alden-me...n/pvc-ald-mxs-44611h_ald_m_wing_tip_boot.html

I don't see why these can't be used with a suit or casual...

^ Why not Barrie? Too much volume for a more formal outfit?

ShoeMart e-mail says Color 4 -- looks more like Color 8 to me. Anyone want to take the risk and make the purchase?

I have a call in to Mark Waters to discuss, but if in fact #4 I will pull the trigger.

Almost certainly #8. this is the epaulet brixton boot.

is there another seconds list floating around? They've been great about sending me mine in the past but i have not received one today...
