Does anyone have a comparison picture of Color 4, Cigar, Color 8, and Ravello? I know there is one floating around with just the leathers, but I'd be interested in seeing how they work on some shoes.

403's, I believe the shipping was about $35 US, boots were $435. I believe the charge was fit duty and tax, can't remember exactly.

9.5 E in the Dalton and most all AE's
9D in the truebalance (almost perfect fit)
    9.5 D in grant ( perfect fit)
9.5 D in leydon (perfect fit)

Barrie is tricky. I have some that are 9D and they are tight. I have a pair in 9E that are a little loose. The Ravello wt boots are 9.5D and while they look huge to me when they are on my feet the fit is pretty good.

I really love those daltons. I know AEs are anathema on this thread but I'd place those boots against any of my Alden's. I bet that if AE starts making more shoes and boots in different cordovan colors they will win away some of alden's business. Plus AEs don't increase in price every year AND the customer service is awesome!

I have an old pair of a near identical color. agree that its a great color and I love it but its very....red. its definitely a flashy color and kind of like whiskey probably isn't appropriate for the range of places that #8, cigar or ravello are...but when do you do wear it does really pop

    edit:

old pic I have of ravello, #4, new #8, old #8

I wonder how Color 4 patinas over time... Compared to these Color #8's it seems to catch the browner hues.

How does #4 compare to the color of the RL Darlton/Marlow line? More red i'd assume?

the Darlton color starts outs between ravello and cigar but becomes basically equal to ravello. thats what I have seen in zippys and other pics

I'm thinking about pre-ordering a pair of Alden boots and deciding between the Snuff Suede Flex Boot or the chocolate suede tanker boots from leathersoul.

Anyone have any advice on which may be more versatile. I'm looking for a boot I can wear 3 seasons (fall, winter and spring) with khakis and chinos to my business casual office as well as denim on the weekends. I'm thinking the chocolate suede may be more versatile for the office, but the tanker style is also a little bit more casual than the plain toe flex boot.

How does the suede look roughed up on the snuff and chocolate colors?

fuuuu I wish more stores would do narrow sizes for these special makeups because unless they`re on the lasts on the other end of the spectrum where you can size down in length (and up in width), there`s no way I can get the TTS lasts in C width
