Saphir renovateur for conditioning. Additionally, Alden recently released a product called Leather Defender, available at LS and at the Alden stores, which is supposed to protect shell from water spots -- or spilled drink spots, as the case may be! I have not used Leather Defender myself, but many other members have and I believe it's well thought of.

Cleaned up the boots. Excuse the camera angle. Even made me dizzy watching it. [IMG] [IMG]

The bone seems like overkill...until you see the results.

Ok, so first there was Mac. All knowing on things Alden (but the uncle-nephew thing was a bit much).

Then came Gaga - the sage from the East with the most tricked-out closet. But he was a like an apparition, here ever so briefly (was he even real?).

And now there is Namor, upping the game with (1) video and (2) the voodoo bone. That bone is from Haiti, right? Did some you get some Alden-savvy Santeria Priest to cast a spell over it? All bow before the new King, Namor!

I don't think the bone is a new thing, although I haven't seen it posted about here much. I'm curious how much of that shine comes from the bone, though, and how much comes from the shoes being in tip top shape before they got fucked up.

Anyone know where I can get some boot trees? There were a few threads that came up in a search but none of the places mentioned still make or sell boot trees.

Yah the "deer bone" has been around for a while. A few years ago the guys at Alden SF mentioned it to me as a means of polishing out water welts on shell cordovan. I was told the larger end of the bone is packed with oils that aid in mending cordovan scuffs and "water welts".

All alden laces are crap (even the waxed ones)

If you don't mind something a little more rugged I've had great success with red wing boot laces. (the ones that came with my GT's are perfect on my tankers)
If you go on the red wing heritage site you can request a free pair.

And that's why you list your location as "heavenly". All hail the new King!

I took mine from a pair of 9011 and think they're perfect
