Daaaang, kippy just went off tonight. Mens_gaga status

I wish I could add a LS makeup to my collection but given I am not one of the chosen (despite being circumcised) it is likely not in the cards. :fu:

Oh well, I guess I can keep on buying elsewhere in the meanwhile.

I'm considering a pair of cordovan plain toe bluchers. I'm having trouble deciding whether I want color 8 or black, as I feel they're both awesome. Any opinions are appreciated.

Black is beautiful, but I think Color 8 is much more versatile. When I finally got my fashion training wheels on I realized that black is more difficult to pair with other colors relative to Color 8. Burgundy #8 look great with jeans, dress pants and plays well against other colors. In dark light, #8 looks black so that might work well at night or for formal events. With black you have to be more careful about what colors you pair it with. Both are wonderful, but I would get the #8 first.

The other thing to consider is that Black will always look Black. It will not fade or change color. Burgundy color #8 fades into wonderful hues of purple and red. The color transformation happens very quickly. On my 4 month old pair I am already seeing hints of purple and red in the shell. Lovely.

Sounds like we're starting to get the "Shoe Nazi" persona put on us! I apologize to those who we did not do a good job helping. I think the main problem is the growth of my business. When I started posting on SF years ago, I was a one man operation. I had the time and energy t---snip
As you could imagine, this increase in in-store business has also lead to an increase of mail order business from those customers who bought in-store. Those customers, combined with those with long histories with us, take preference in our replies and allocations. I'm being totally honest here. It's just business. When we get an order of 24 pairs of whiskey shoes, of course we need to offer these to those customers first. Most times they do sell out before we can offer them to the public.
---snip
Sorry for the long reply. We should get back to posting pics about Aldens!

I appreciate your honesty and you posting this to the forum. It has confirmed what I already understood. Your shop makes beautiful Alden makeups. I wish you the best selling them to your existing customers. I understand it is just business.

Wow, nice. Did they have those in stock? I notice their site says out of stock, please call.
Ravello seems to really suit a wing tip boot very well.

I had these on order for about 6 months and they came in about 1 month ago. I did a PSA on this forum about a month back letting all know the boots were back in stock but you may have missed it. I agree with your assessment about Ravello and wing tip boots. The combination of the color, shape, light welt and antique sole are killer and best of all looks great casual or formal.

Worth the wait. Call Shoemart and put your order in for next time.

Cigar Long Wings from Alden of Carmel. Order and customer service entirely by email and excellent:

Those look amazing. I am glad they said they would order me a pair in my small size of 5.5E on the barrie. Now the wait begins. I think cigar will be a great shell color.

My natural CXL LWB are actually 6.5D and I'm still on the fence with them since they are really a bit more casual for work (if hou are interested); I obtained them from Leffot. I also think TSM also has the style. However, both I think may be out of the size. Hope for a reorder?

Kippy: Nice photos of many, many beautiful shoes. Love the cigar LWB and those whiskey PTBs in particular. Just wore my ravello WT boots from ShoeMart yesterday. I'll have to post a photo soon.

Quick sizing question:
What size would I take in the grant if I wear the following:
7.5D in Barrie/Truebalance
8D in Aberdeen/Hampton

Thx in advance.
