    Hey guys... since this is my first shell shoes... can i do the mac method straight out of the box or i gotta wear my shell shoes for a few times before applying the mac method?

    Yes. Grant last is awesome! The 4060 is an all time favorite of mine. Incredibly versatile.

    I saw those on the bay along with the plaza last cap-toes (at least they look like the same ones). I hesitated, you apparently didn't - nice buy!

    ^ good catch. This is my second time owning this very boot. Anyone remember the back seam split fiasco (alden qc discussion) from a few months ago?

    Can anyone suggest where I can get some laces like those in this pic but in a colour that is close to Alden sand suede? Thanks.

    Hehe, I mentioned that my dad had two pair of cordovan shoes - one for dress and one for work. He was a short haul truck driver - in and out in all kinds of weather. Those work shoes lasted 30 + years.

    ^ Make sure you follow the break-in method. If I'm not mistaken, wear the shoes for an hour three different times, and wear them only on a carpet during this time. Mac can chime in if I messed that up at all, but I did this for my last pair of #8 boots and it worked great.
