Hey guys can someone reccomend a good leather conditioner for me.
I got the Leffot Indy CXL boots and the leather is cracking a bit in the mid foot area. I don't mind my boots looking lived and worn in, so some scuffs here and there is ok, but the cracking seems like a bit much, especially cosndiering that I have likely worn these boots 5-6 times top.
Thanks.

Thank you

I heard Montana Pitch Blend was good too, anyone have experience?

Pitch-Blend is excellent for Chromexcel. Renovateur is fine, but may be overkill for Chromexcel -- like bringing coals to Newcastle. I use Alden neutral boot cream and pitch-blend. Nothing beats regular application. As other have said, neatsfoot oil is also recommended.

If your leather is already cracking, though, it may be too late. Can you post pics?

#4 "Atoms" (a shortwing), out of the box photos earlier in the thread. The color alternates between burgundy and dark red/mohogany depending on lighting conditions

Those from Leffot? He has some nice socks as well. Very Nice!!

Socks are from J Crew

Ah, the #4 shortwings. Enjoy! Which last did Steven make those on?

Tremont. Slightly more roomy than the Grant. I went with my Barrie size (10D) in this last.

I would say this last makes these the dressiest Aldens I have - a close second are my Aberdeen ravello tassels.

I love my #4's and the new #8's as well. It is tough now deciding which ones to wear...maybe one day I will wear one of each!!

The cracks are minor and not that big. I was just surprised to see them at all after only a few wears.

I'm going to get the Renovateur and Montana Pitch, why not can't hurt to have both, want to keep my Aldens extra crispy.

You should probably only use Montana on hardier leathers (in terms of Alden, really only chromexcel). I use Montana on boots, but only on my Indy boots and other work/hiking boots like Red Wing, Wolverine, Danner, etc.

Reno is great for cordovan and calf. I haven't used it on chromexcel, seems like overkill (bust still ok) - the Alden Boot Cream also seems like a good product for chromexcel and some other calf boots (never tried it). For cordovan (shoes, boots, whatever), it's Reno and paste wax only.
