1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I think Cigar does have a 'greenish' under tone under certain lighting which is why some people prefer the C&J brown. However, C&J does not make LWB :slayer:

AoC and I second Adam's excellent customer service. Do not hesitate to do business with him (if you have not already)!

Last one: #8 LWB then I've completed the set!

Does anybody know if there's a supplier for a Black Shell Plaintoe Balmoral on the Plaza?

Alden Madison NY has this shoe on the Aberdeen Last. I'd prefer Plaza if possible.

    Thanks!

    AoC Cigar LWB

picked up a pair of irregulars - the reason being that the one of the toes was lighter than the rest of the shoe. I can't notice it though, so I'm happy

Adam is awesome. I second the recommendation for Alden of Carmel. C&J may not make a LWB, but their Marlow wingtip is spectacular! I have the cigar LWB and I'm about to pick up the Marlow also.

I am wearing these right now... RL Marlows are essential for cordovan fans, a lot of guys in this thread own them

    Extraordinary.

Two experiences with AoC irregulars suggest to me that these are some of the only real Alden bargains (Shoemart may be the same, no experience there). I think there's a very high standard.

IIRC, the difference is that AOC's irregulars are sent to them as first quality, and he decides that he doesn't think it qualifies.

I really wish the Marlow fit me - I got a 12D during their 40% + 15% sale last year, but they were too wide, and unfortunately they aren't made in narrow widths. I tried sizing down to an 11.5 but they were too short in length. Looks like I'll have to stick to waiting 18 months for Alden pre-orders :satisfied:

Hey guys, I finally ponied up and bought a pair of Indy boots from Alden DC ( me --> :D ). I have goofy feet and after trying on 1,000 different pairs a 9C ended up fitting like a glove. Kathy is also awesome to work with. I had a great experience there and continue to after the sale. I would highly recommend it.

With that said, question for the Alden connoisseurs. How big of a blemish/imperfection would it have to be for you to second guess paying almost $500 and being satisfied? The right boot has a small gouge, probably made with one of the tools when being built. Without light on it, it isn't as noticeable (which is probably why we didn't see it in the store). Problem is I know it's there now, it wasn't of my own doing, and it's driving me nuts. I threw together some pictures below. What is everyone's thoughts? Getting another 9C could take several months. Would this be something you could look past?

That wouldn't bother me. You'll pick up scuffs worse than that. Those are the brown CXLs? Try a little Saphir or Venetian shoe creme.

Agree with PhiPsi here. These boots will look good with some wear on them and it is amazing what a little shoe cream can do to convert a nick like that directly into character. I can also recommend Montana Pitch Blend for care, whether CXL or other. Really nice and very pleasant to work with. I keep flogging it here. Guy should send me a free tub or something.:) And speaking of it, I've got some boots that need a going over right now.
