1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I am not sure it is needed. I think the dust soaks up oil and also lightens the stain. I am not sure it turns it white. I picked up a suede kit from "Of Broadway Shoes" or something like that for a few bucks (no pun intended) once and I believe it had the eraser with a white and beige color though.

I like those and have been looking for a non-cordovan brown shoe. Where did you pick up the brown CXL PTB?

Edit : Question is directed at Seer's post on the previous page.

I learned this a few years ago and it works great. It's called a reef knot and it does take a minute getting used to going under rather than over but, if tied correct the knot will actually tighten the more its worn.

The knot above is tied this way and it looks great.

I don't remember who taught me to tie my shoe when I was a kid, but they taught me correctly...

Just picked up the natural CXL LSxSE boot, waiting for the Kudu Ultimate Indy. I also see brown CXL in my future . . .

There is a simpler way of getting the same result. Instead of switching the orientation at the loop stage of the knot, you tie the first overhand knot in the different direction, and then do the loops as you normally would. (In case you are currently tying your shoes incorrectly and have grown used to doing so.)

and Tobacco Chamois. TC might be my favorite of all three. Super soft yet extremely durable.

See, that is a great looking boot/leather. Probably the next best next to shell!
