1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Probably since the Trubalance last is quite wide already. But, I would recommend you try them on since YMMV.

Thanks. I don't have a chance to try them on before purchasing, but wanted to make sure my guesstimate was at least reasonable.

These are beautiful. I really think navy suede is one of the most attractive materials for a shot to be made of.

    I am a solid 10E on brannock, I take 10D or 9.5E in Barrie/Truebalance.

Given you are on the edge of D/E, you may be able to do a 10.5D. If possible, I would buy 10.5D and 11D and return the one that doesn't fit

I'm an 11C on the brannock, and the 10.5D Truebalance is just a little snug in the toe. Don't forget to consider you arch/instep size. This also affects the fit.

Just placed a preorder for the color 4 wingtips. They said they ordered 3 pairs in my size (10.5D) so it looks like stock will be super limited.

And for Lwb, what color would you say is best for casual / business casual use? Thinking #8 and Ravello but kind of tempted by Cigar as well.

I'm a 10.5E on brannock and 10.5D Indy boots fit perfect with thicker socks. I tried on the 10Ds and it was just a bit too snug in the toe area for me. The 10.5Ds are a bit too long but isn't really an issue in terms of comfort and I just put in small heel insoles when wearing thin socks. Getting E width would make the shoe look too bulky. I wore an 11D in the 5 last and 7 last. It's a bit too slim for me so I ended up selling my AEs. Not sure if 10.5E would have worked better

Will this boot start being referred to as "The Stooge Boot" now?

Thanks for your input - much appreciated. I have a pair of 5-last AEs that I'm going to sell because they're just too narrow to be comfortable, but the 11E 5-last is wonderful. I think the best option is to order both a 10.5 and an 11 in D-width and just see what works. Luckily JCrew has free shipping and it's only like six bucks to return something.

So...does anybody ride a motorcycle in their Indys? :)

You can also return at any J.Crew store if you have one near by....

Even if they don't sell Alden in that store? If so, I've got nothing to lose :)

Absatively. I've returned items I bought on the website that were not in the store at all, no problem.
