Yeah, they look nice. All I can speak from is my personal experience.

I like the black longwings with the red interior, even though it's like putting lipstick on a pig. That's about as sexy as a longwing is ever going to get.

Is there one you'd recommend for the indy boot? I'm breaking the stock alden indy laces all the time. They send me a couple of pair at a time.

Getting more comfortable by the day...my left foot no longer feels like it's being stabbed by the tongue walking down stairs. What other Color 8 do you guys suggest?

Indy tongue in my right foot slips, gonna need to get it "tacked." I assume any good cobbler can do this pretty quickly, eh?

I use the fashion casual, not only are they really strong you can get them in different colors (I assume you will want 54") to really set your boots off:

And since I have done a lot of hiking in all kinds of weather I have also used, and liked, a heavier waxed cotton boot lace:

Longwings. My staple shoe. If I was only allowed to choose one shoe to wear for the rest of my life, it would be Alden's stock LWB in color 8.

So according to your break in method I should wear them on carpeting 3 times for at least an hour to know if they fit. Do you suggest walking carefully so they don't get creased?

Stock Color 8s look the best to me. Longwings, chukkas, tassels.

When brushing cordovan shoes what should you do:
brush such that only the tips of the bristles touch the leather or
push down on the brush, so that the sides of the bristles rub the leather?

If the latter, do you push all the way down?

I have a pair of Ravello's that need some MacLovin...

Have a question on Chromexcel - Horween website says to use neatsfoot or venetian cream, are they talking 100% Neatsfoot oil OR Neatsfoot compound (prime)? The Prime compound mixes the neatsfoot oil with petroleum based oil. From one maker, the 100% was good for saddles, while the compound was good for saddles and boots. What would be the best for CXLs?
