This thread is really making me want to pick up a pair of Alden shoes. Really digging the PTBoot and Indy boots.

Do it! I have two pair of Alden boots and they are two of the best purchases I have ever made.

I'm just waiting for the Los Angeles, Leather Souls to open up before I make my next Alden purchase! I have the AF53 from Alden of Carmel and they are great.

I need to find someone to work there first.

Finding an employee should be easy out here... At least you'll have us consumers ready to purchase from the start!

I hope so. I'm gonna have to fly up and headhunt sometime this month I think.

Yeah, looking forward to bringing something new to LA, hope you all visit.

    Is this a hint [IMG]

I'll ask a couple of my buddies who have shops if they can recommend any references or methods and such.

Thanks, I'll take any help I can get. I have no idea how to find someone in LA and times a tickin.

Why don't you just relocate one of your trusted Hawaii employees for a month until he can hire, train, and transition over to the new employees?

Lots of reasons, mainly because we cater to a completely different clientele here versus LA so it doesn't transition well. I'm planning on going up to LA to train and open the shop and fly the LA guy to Hawaii to train here before we open LA.

I'm almost 100% positive I'm going to be getting a pair of indy boots sometime in the next couple of months. It's only a matter of time at this point.[IMG]

Shoot, I've always thought living in LA would be nice and I have plenty of experience in specialty retail...when do I start [IMG] Some discounted Aldens and a trip to Hawaii sounds like icing on the cake!

I am doing an interest check here to see if there is a market for ALDENS in CANADA. I may know a possible contact that may want to expand to Canada with the shoes. It will be done via online and shipped out of Toronto. As for inventory I am not sure as we will carry a handful of shoes / boots - guessing the most popular. I am unsure as I have just started to read the thread. I still have to see how much pricing will be.
