The neocork sole is astonishingly durable, but it's not going to grip as well as the commando sole. Still, I find that it grips well enough for the northeast U.S. that a commando sole has been unnecessary for me. Unlike some, I don't wear nice shoes in truly foul weather, and instead just have a pair of Chippewas with a Vibram sole for when mother nature is angry. The rest of the time, double leather and neocork soles actually work fine.

Depends on where you live, I suppose.

+1. Great answer.

I want to support America workers as much as possible. My underwear, my pants, my shirts, my shoes, my coats, my belts and most of my socks (I do have some socks made in England) are US made. As far as trade goes - I'm a protectionist...

Seer I found your avatar in the alley out back doing blow with William Jennings Bryan and that guy who runs Crane's Country Store.

Cute but not relevant. Here is my plan. The US has the largest consumer market in the world, so it's simple - a 60/40 rule. If you want access to our market you have to manufacture 60% of your product in this country. The fact is we are bleeding job, the middle class is being gutted - we have to do something...
