1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Left: red/burgundy ravello (purchased Mayish 2011)
Middle: red/"carrot" ravello (purchased last month)
    Right: Whiskey (purchased January 2012)

FWIW I've used mid tan Kiwi on the tassel loafers, have yet to wax the other two pair

Haha. I like it. The Indy is considered a "work boot" so why not? Btw, how much did it run you?

I prefer the reddish-brown in the middle, a la "Elk Tongue."

I totally agree. One of my holy grail shoes. I would honestly give my left nut for those.

OP where did you get that tassel loafer from?

Those look pretty good. They have a 'red wing' feel to them.

These are fine. I worked in the construction field years ago and this is the kind of sole most carpenters and roofers wore. I bet they are more comfortable now! I just sold my Indy boots on E-Bay, they, for some reason, killed my feet - very pain full. I ordered the J Crew suede boot with the crepe sole - hopefully they won't hurt.

Taken outside in sunlight, no flash, HDR (camera phone)

Tassels are from Leffot. What I like about them most is the machine stiching on the moc toe, which looks a lot more attractive than the hand stiching you see on non-tassel cordovan moc toes. They are due for a waxing...

FWIW, the ravello PTB (also bought spring of last year) I sold recently was closer to the tassel loafer than the longwing. It seems that all of the recent ravello I have seen in this thread resembles the longwing. Alden's cordovan colors seem to come in batches. One year, the color will simply be lighter/darker than the previous year. It is what it is.

that shoe on your left foot is in Ravello??

wow, it looks nothing like the photo in the post above yours (the cap toe boots in Ravello), which is more of what I'm used to seeing in most pics

and when I say nothing I mean worlds apart... I can't believe they'd call that ravello. The whiskey boots I'm wearing from Ron Rider today are much darker than that ravello shoe on your left foot, will post a pic in a minute

Here's the RR whiskey shell... as you can see much darker.. it's just crazy the amount of variance can be seen with both ravello and whiskey colors:

All this Ravello has me wishing I had my Wingtip boots that I pre-ordered already; I still have another 4-6 months left to wait for them....

The pics I have seen here match with what I have seen in person- ravello and whiskey shades can vary a lot and in some cases are nearly identical. And whiskey most certainly darkens as it ages.

Here is a pic I took last month (with indoor lighting- I live in Maine so I'm not taking outdoor shots in January).
The whiskey LWB are 7-8 years old and have never seen polish
The ravello LHS are 1 year old and have never seen polish
