Pretty sure the Alden 4060 model is on the Grant last.

I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, but are the Alden Indy 405's available anywhere without the speed laces (the hooks on the top of the boot for laces). I have those on a Color 8 Alden boot and hate them. They take forever to lace and come undone sometimes which is why I'm looking for a pair of Indy's without them.

    Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know of any brown chromexel boots in Grant/Plaza/Leydon last?

The Ultimate Jumper from LS is gorgeous, but I just can't get over the trubalance blobbiness. Thanks!

    Xpost from small questions thread..

I want a pair of Alden cordovan boots but the trubalance last looks too fat and out of date from pics.. Is it really that bad IRL?
Plenty of Japanese dudes rocking Alden PTBs but a lot those turned out to be in modified last.
I am just worried that it might look too bulky when I am 5'9'' and wear size 7
    Thanks!

Beautiful - I am looking forward to mine. I pre-ordered with Shoemart last year for the Ravello Wingtop boot and I just saw that they charged my CC. I wonder if this means the boots have arrived and been shipped. Def need to call the store and confirm.

    Love the Barrie last!:nodding:

I don't have any experience with the Modified but according to our chart, Mod is the next blobbiest after TruB. Lots of cordo on the Barrie or Grant though if you're worried...

Was in NY over Thanksgiving, went to Alden on Madison at 44th. Good selection to get sized though a little bit dickish service. Epaulet and JCrew Liq also have Aldens but more casual styles/fewer models.

Leffot would be a great option for cool custom makeups. Just popped in on Wednesday and they have a couple of amazing new makeups, Whiskey Tankers, saddles, etc...

And for superior service and a great experience, Epaulet can't be beat. Best store in the city and they have a couple of natural chromexcel boots that are just crazy nice. I am rocking the wingtip natural chromexcel boot right now! My favorite boot.

Leffot in the West Village is the best place in NYC to shop for Alden shoes. Great special makeups, a lot of the basics (like #8 longwings), and awesome service. In the top tier of Alden retailers globally (with Leather Soul, Tassels, Alden of Carmel, etc). Their other shoes are awesome as well. This should be your first stop.

Alden on Madison Ave have the widest selection, but as mentioned many times in this thread, gruffer service. They do have all the basics in stock plus a good selection of rarer cordovan (they have whisky indy boots in stock right now, for example)

Epaulet Shop in Brooklyn has a lot of Alden stuff. They currently have natural chromexcel boots in stock in addition to more common Alden models.

Citishoes apparently has a lot of Alden, I've never been though.

The J Crew men's shops (Tribeca, Soho, Upper East Side, Columbus Circle) stock the Aldens that appear on the J Crew website and often some extra models (for example the Upper East Side store used to stock a #8 captoe).

The Alden store on Madison. Amazing selection of stock models and "rare" shell colors. Really underrated in my opinion. The service isn't as bad as some make it out to be - just don't expect the salesmen to be shoe nuts like us.

Also go to Leffot if you can. Completely different experience from Alden Madison - it IS a store for and by shoe nuts.
