Hey guys,
Just purchased those Jcrew Plain Toe boots in tan with 25% off in a size 8. These are my first Aldens...
I might want to do this with some whiskey indys^ Yes, they will. Last I checked they charge $12 per eyelet, so a typical Alden boot with speed hooks would cost $96 plus shipping (that's $12 x 8 eyelets).
N.B. that I have not done this nor seen the results. If anyone has had this done, it would be useful to see what the finished boot looks like. But if I would trust anyone to do this, it would be B. Nelson.
EDIT: Ahab I actually think Alden will do it if they are already repairing the lacing system on the boot.
I am sorry but I can not recall where I picked up those laces. However, Paul Smith on line has something
similar. These Atoms are on the Tremont last and are Fantastic!!

I own a pair of AE Strands, and it's a pretty narrow last compared to the barrie-lasted Aldens you are likely to find at J Crew...there's a chance you may be able to squeeze into an 8D to get the width you need, but the shoe may be too long.
I see you live in Baltimore - go check out Samuel Parker Clothiers and try some on...the owner there is a good guy and will help you out with sizing.
^ Thor I forgot you were the one who had had that done. Those #8 indys are beautiful.
And it's quite a wonder your moc toe and last stitching are still that white. Nicely done.
