    from my experience the plaza last and the aberdeen last fit very similarly

    My first pair of black shell just arrived. I predict that these will develop much better patina/depth than my #8 Chukka boots.

    I will respectfully disagree. I have a pair of the black shell chukka boots and while they are great and look fantastic (i have had them for about 9 months and wear them 2-3 times a week) they really don't look different from when I first got them, other than creases in the leather.
    My color #8 cap toe boots are 2 months old and have already developed a fantastic patina and i think will age beautifully as time goes by and will be much richer than the Black Shell. But enjoy the black shell, it is awesome!

    I've had my #8 shell chukkas for almost 2 years. I echo your sentiments about your black, "they really don't look different from when I first got them, other than creases in the leather." My black shells are showing some changes after one wear. Thus my prediction. But I would not have predicted a Cards-Rangers WS, so...

    I actually really like the light trim....boots look great, I'm seriously considering a pair of these now.
